Lands End Airport runway work due to start 10 March 2014

Customer Services at IOSSCo announced yesterday (14 Jan 14) that work to lay hard surfaces on two of the four grass landing strips at Land’s End Airport was sheduled to start Monday 10th March 2014 with the intention of re-opening the Airport on Monday 24th March 2014.
Customer Services advise that:
All Skybus passengers, freight and mail will be transferred to Newquay whilst the airport is closed. For all passengers that are booked to fly from Land’s End during this time, we will contact you in due course to offer an alternative fight to and from Newquay at no extra cost.
Land’s End Airport Manager, Chris Pearson said: “We are aiming to complete the project as quickly as possible and have timed the work to minimise disruption. This is a significant investment and combined with the proposed enhancements to St Mary’s Airport will make the air links to the islands significantly more robust, especially during poor weather.”
If you are due to travel to or from Land’s End during this period and have any queries then please call our Travel Centre on 0845 710 5555 / 01736 334220
